Privacy Policy

The short version: Tend doesn't collect your data. There's no account, and the iPhone app never connects to the internet. Everything you enter, including your answers about your health, stays on your device, where only you can see or delete it.
This policy covers the Tend iPhone app and this website (together, "Tend"). "We" and "us" mean the developer of Tend.
What you enter into Tend
To suggest the right routine, Tend asks you some questions. Your answers can include:
- Your stage of life, such as postpartum or menopause
- Symptoms such as leaking, pelvic pain or heaviness, and whether you've been told you have low bone density
- Your experience with pelvic floor exercises
- Daily check-ins about how you feel and any pain you have
- If you're pregnant or have had a baby, your due date or your baby's birth date
- Optional symptom checks every four weeks, and tools you choose to use, such as bladder training and belly gap self-checks
Tend also keeps a record of the days you finished a session and which routine you did, plus your settings, such as your pelvic floor level, text size, voice guidance and reminder time.
All of this is stored only on your device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. We have no server that receives it, and we can't see it.
The iPhone app
- No data collection. The app makes no network connections. It doesn't include analytics, advertising, crash reporting or any other third-party code.
- Where your data lives. Your information is saved in a file inside the app's private storage on your iPhone, protected by iOS data protection.
- Backups. Like most app data, this file is included in your iPhone's backups if you have iCloud Backup or computer backups turned on. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple, not by us.
- Reminders. If you turn on the daily reminder, your iPhone schedules it locally. No push notification service is involved. The reminder text is kept generic ("Ready for today's ten minutes?") so nothing personal appears on your lock screen.
- Voice guidance uses your iPhone's built-in speech, which runs on the device.
- Apple Health (optional). If you turn it on, Tend saves finished sessions to Apple Health as workouts, and reads period data from Cycle Tracking to suggest a gentle day. This happens on your iPhone. Tend never sends Health data anywhere.
- Widgets and Live Activities. Your streak and the days you finished are copied to a small file shared with Tend's widgets on your iPhone, so they can show them. It stays on the device.
- Routines from a physical therapist. A routine shared as a link or QR code holds the routine itself, after the # in the link. If Tend isn't installed, the link opens a page on this website that shows the routine. Browsers never send the part after the #, so the routine doesn't reach our host's logs. When you share a routine or a report, it goes only where you send it, such as Messages or email.
- The clinic version. Clinicians can buy the clinic version in the app, where Apple handles the purchase and we don't receive your name or payment details, or on this website (see below). Saved patient plans, templates and branding stay on the clinician's iPhone. Patient labels are never put in a link.
- Clinic codes. If you enter a clinic code bought on this website, the app connects to this website when the code is close to its end date, to get a renewed one, and when you tap Manage billing. Each request sends only the code. This is the only time the app goes online, and it never sends health or patient information.
This website
- No cookies, analytics or tracking. The website doesn't use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking pixels.
- Hosting. The website is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel automatically processes standard technical information when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure. See Vercel's privacy policy.
- Fonts. The website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the fonts load. See Google's privacy policy.
Buying the clinic version on this website
Clinicians and clinics can subscribe on our clinics page. Payments are handled by Stripe, which receives your payment details, email address and billing address. We don't see your card number. We keep the clinic or practice name you enter with your subscription, so it can appear in the codes we issue, and Stripe keeps your billing records. We use these only to provide and bill your subscription. You can update your details, download invoices or cancel at any time from Manage billing in the app.
Deleting your data
Because your data is only on your iPhone, you're in full control of it. Open the You tab and tap Erase my data, or delete the app.
We can't delete, view or recover your data for you, because we never have it.
Sharing and selling
We don't sell, rent or share your personal information, because we don't collect it.
Children
Tend is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
Not medical advice
Tend is a fitness routine, not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Talk to a doctor or pelvic floor physical therapist about any health concerns.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Tend handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If Tend ever starts collecting data, we'll say so here and in the app before it happens.
